Daily Desires

First up for Daily Desires is Wristology's rose gold, Ivory faced double wrap leather strapped watch! This little guy can take a causal gray tee and black skinnies to a whole new level. Its simple face and strap give it a earthy look but the ivory and gold keep it nice and classy. Every girl needs to keep up with time... why not keep up in style?

Next we have One Loom Designs newest headband! This pastel, warm toned beauty can hold your wispies like no other! The thick carefully hand woven fabric double excellently with its floral backing. In this photo I'm wearing it twisted so that both the front and back are shown. Its a good way of spicing things up with any revisable headband.

One Loom offers more than headbands though, they specialize in: Camera straps, Yoga mat straps, key fobs, headband (goes without saying), very soon clutches and scarves along with providing single mothers in Guatemala with jobs! (Read more and learn more at OneLoomDesigns.com)

   And last but certainly not least... Hobby Lobby's light-up &! This baby can take your home from dull to bright! (That was cool. What I just typed was cool I promise.) Its great as a gift too!

Your friends are getting married? BOOM! light-up &.
Going to a baby shower? BOOM! light-up &.
Birthday party? BOOM! light-up &.
Christmas present? BOOM! light-up &.
Got invited to an Anniversary party? BOOM! light-up &
Need a new home decoration to spruce things up a bit? BOOM! light-up &.

As you can see the light-up & is fabulous for many things. That's why it is a desire...

Welp, thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed it! Happy Blogging.

Sharing Stories: Colorado

This summer I went to Colorado! It was absolutely gorgeous, its basically a photographers dream. I got to fulfill my Pinterest wishes! I was living my Pinterest board--the great outdoors. This was taken at Rocky Mountain National Park. The hike up was brutal. The air is so thin and hard to get used too... I had to make oxygen choices and take half a million breaks but it was all worth it to be in the presence of this.

Mountains are so breathtaking. As I stood in front of this one thing was streaming through my mind: "Shout it, go on and scream it from the mountains." it replayed over and over in my mind until chills ran down my back. I felt God's presence in this moment more than I have in a long time. Sometimes you need to take a trip far from home to get back in synch with Christ. Its easy to forget how real he is in your normal day life. Which sucks.

As humans that's what happens though, we get so wrapped up in our most desired needs that we numb ourselves to the most substantial one. The one our soul thrives on. Its terrible to put it this way but its necessary: When we push or put off Christ we are starving our souls--the most important part of us--of what it needs. Of what WE need.

Y'all God filled me up that week in Estes. He opened my eyes and healed parts of me that I didn't even know needed healing. Get reconnected with him and hold on to him tight!

{STEP 1 of doing that, that I constantly fail at:}
READ YOUR BIBLE! Guy we can only know more about him and how he works if we READ about it. (Yes I said read... suck it up. Its like reading long instagram captions from Jesus's besties. And I know that you've read long instagram captions. We all do at some point.)

{STEP 2:}
Surround yourself with people that you can talk about Christ with. We can't do life alone. (No matter how much we introverts want too.)

{STEP 3:}
Confess your sins and FORGET your sins! Do you think God's sitting up there hoarding a file full of all your sins? Heck no! He forgets them and forgives us. Its not easy to do that. I am constantly re-thinking about passed mistakes, hurts, sorrows, ext. but he forgets and forgives when we don't. When we can't he's there to get us through it and he won't ever stop forgiving us or loving us unconditionally. Cause that it who his is and that is what he does!

Sorry I'm all over the place... Haha! I hope you followed even a little bit. Thanks for reading my random story and I hope you liked it!

Succulent Care

When you're a plant hoarder it's good to know how to properly take care of you're planties!
Todays post is on succulent care! I'm going to tell you everything I know about these babies. When I first got my succulents they were shriveled, sun-deprived little lumps. It was depressing. I didn't know very much about them at them time but I did know that they don't like a lot of water sense they're part of the cactus family. (Having trouble with watering or the right amount of sunlight? Scroll to the bottom!)

Well like a good hoarder I got on Pinterest and looked up "How to take care of succulents" the results were dull. Most of the pins weren't what I was looking for which was "What to do when your succulent starts shedding its fluid pouches..." (Translation: My succulents peddles are falling off...HELP.)

After days of searching I found pins that were actually helpful. It was around this time that another one was growing strait up in the air, like it was stretching its neck .
It looked something like this. So I searched a little more and found out that my poor baby was searching for light. I was starving my poor succulent, depriving the little thing of light. So when you run into a situation like this what do you do? Well let me help you... I studied up on the subject and experimented it many times (once... it works I promise.)

Step 1.) Cut the new freaky looking growth off.

 You should end up with this^... Vowalla!

Step 2.) Add honey to the base of the freak and place it a dirt filled pot
In a few weeks it should start to root and will become another succulent! Don't get anxious if nothing happens for a while. Succulents like to take their time when it comes to everything...

Step 3.) Having trouble with your fluid pouches (peddles) falling off? Put a little honey at the base and shove it into a pot and it will start too root!
Just one succulent can provide you with ten! (depending on how things go...) After completing these neat steps your other succulents should have new growth!
Like this!^ Isn't it cute? Aww!

{WATERING SECHEDULE}
A good watering schedule that worked for me is watering once a month. Pick a number, (I picked 3) and then water your succulents on the 3rd (Or whenever) of every month! Super simple and super great for your plants!

{SUNLIGHT}
As a lover of plants I desired to have my plants somewhere where I can see them. Well for me that's indoors, Your succulent should have a good amount of sunlight on it so I would suggest somewhere near a window or on a window seal. In the winter it's different... I wouldn't suggest putting them on the seal because they would get to cold. I would suggest putting them near the window or under a lamp! that will keep them cozy and healthy in the winter!

Thanks for reading and don't be shy to give feedback or post suggestions! Happy Blogging!

Hats

As you may (or may not) know hats are all the rage this summer and I'm assuming it will carry on through the fall! Everyone is desiring a wide brim fedora or a classic wool floppy. I could sit here and list off all the reasons why I love hats and type about all the different styles but that's not what this post is about. I'm here to tell you to rock the heck out of them.

I have three of these little beauties (So far) and I don't where any of them. EVER. Except for this one time featured in the picture above... I actually had to band myself from buying them because of that silly little reason.

So, a few days ago I was being lazy, sitting on the couch looking at Pinterest while "watching" The Office and came across a picture of a girl in the cutest hat and for some odd reason that got me thinking: "Why don't I ever where my hats?"
well let me tell you what I came up with...

1.) I don't want to draw attention to myself.
2.) I don't want to look out of place.
3.) I don't want to distract anyone.

Now lets look at the parallels between these three... what do they have in common?
THEY ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IMAGE AND WHAT PEOPLE WILL THINK OF ME! How pathetic is that. Well I decided to test my theories, if you could even call them that. So I went to meet at friend at a local coffee shop (Mama Carmen's CafĂ©) with the biggest hat I have (which is the one in the picture.) and kept myself aware of everyone around me which wasn't to hard.

Sure enough everyone stared and made me feel uncomfortable but you know what? I'm going to do it again, (With a smaller hat) because I looked dang good and I never have to worry about my hair. Y'all there are cons, and there will always be a million things that will stop you from doing something. In the end stepping out of your comfort zone can make you feel so great! And who knows those many coffee shop stares may not have been judgmental ones, for all I know they could have been admiring my outfit that day. (Cause I looked really good.)

All this to say: It's okay to take desired risks. Who cares what that little voice of caution is saying! Go for it, rock it, and be confident. As they say: "confidence is a girls most fabulous accessory..."
